Dawn R. Young was one of only a handful of people who would go to watch The Rolling Stones play in the early 1960’s. Now, nearly 50 years down the line, their music can be heard playing somewhere in the world every minute of every day.
Dawn appears from time to time in books and newspaper articles as she was a girlfriend of Brian Jones who was the founder of the greatest rock and roll band in the world. He was the father of her son, Paul Andrew. Like so many other pregnant teenagers in the 60’s.
“For some reason situations happened that changed the course of my life. I had no intentions of writing about my life but people and friends I have met along the way who heard bits of my story have said, “You should write a book,” so here it is. My first decision to put pen to paper was when I first reunited with my son John in 1994. I will never forget when a young person once said, very casually to me, “Nobody would take my child away from me.” I was stunned. And I realized she had no idea what it was like back in the early 60’s for an unmarried pregnant girl. I hope that reading this book will give the younger generation a better understanding of those times and to those who have lived that nightmare, realize you were not alone.
She relocated from England in 1982 to the USA and has had the joy and satisfaction of raising 4 children and seeing them grown and independent. Dawn became a US Citizen in 1994 now lives in North Idaho
